Ms. Nitya Thakur

Ms. Nitya Thakur has completed her B.A.LLB (Hons.) from Amity Law School, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi in 2009. She has pursued her Master of Laws from University College London, U.K. with a specialization in Intellectual Property Laws. She holds a Diploma in Cyber Law from the Asian School of Cyber Laws & Government Law College, Mumbai. She has submitted a dissertation on the topic “Law on Forced Marriage vis-à-vis Autonomy: An Analysis” and a research paper on “The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006- An Analysis”.
Prior to joining Symbiosis Law School, Noida she has practised litigation in the areas of intellectual property law and telecommunication and broadcasting laws being associated with law firms like Anand and Anand, Advocates amongst others.

  • Undertaken a “Training Programme for Law Teachers” [2011-12] organised by University College London
  • Attended seminars on the “Dispute Resolution Scenario in Telecom and Broadcasting Sectors” organised by the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal [TDSAT] in December 2009, February 2010 and March 2010
  • Attended a seminar on “WTO and its impact on the Legal Profession” organized by the University of Delhi, Bar Council of Delhi and Students for the Promotion of International Law, March 2005
